In December 2006, Michelle Walsh was named the interim head coach of the William Smith golf team.

Walsh is in her first year as an assistant coach of the Heron basketball team. She is an avid golfer and taught golf classes at Smith College prior to accepting her current position at William Smith.

Walsh earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Swarthmore College in 1998, and completed a master’s degree in exercise and sport studies from Smith in 2006.

“This is a great opportunity for Coach Walsh and the Heron golf team as we continue to expand the program with practice and competition in the spring,” Steward said. “She has excellent teaching skills and will be a tremendous asset in the recruiting process.”
