Ron FleuryRon Fleury

Head Coach Hobart Cross Country

Ron Fleury is in his third decade at the helm of the Hobart cross country program, after spending 12 years as the cross country coach at Eisenhower College. He has served as a mentor to dozens of All-Academic selections, and NCAA Championship qualifying runner, Greg Stowell ’00.

As a student-athlete, Fleury was a member of the Cortland’s SUNYAC Championship teams in 1967 and 1968 before graduating in 1969. Today he runs in a number of area events throughout the year and assists in the organization of several races.

In addition to a bachelor’s degree from Cortland, Fleury has an associate’s degree from Auburn Community College (now Cayuga Community College), earned in 1967.

Upon graduation from Cortland, he became a member of the faculty at Mynderse Academy in Seneca Falls, where he taught mathematics and coached the track and field team. He retired from Mynderse Academy in 2000, but continues to coach the Blue Devils track and field team, leading his charges to the 2001 Section V Championship and the 2003 Finger Lakes League Championship.
