Feane grabs Liberty League weekly honor

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart junior guard Colby Feane (Weedsport/Weedsport, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Men’s Basketball Co-Guard of the Week by the conference office this afternoon. He averaged 14.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.0 apg, and 2.0 spg in a 3-0 week for the Statesmen.
Feane began the week with 14 points and four steals in a 68-65 win over Utica College. On Friday in a 70-61 win over Skidmore College, he recorded his first career double-double, scoring 12 points and pulling down 10 boards. He also had six assists against the Thoroughbreds. The following afternoon in an 81-69 win over Union, Feane scored 16 points, including three three-pointers.
For the season, Feane leads Hobart in scoring (15.8 ppg), three-point field goal percentage (.488), and steals (2.58 spg), and ranks among the top-10 in the conference in steals (1st), three-point field goal percentage (2nd), scoring (4th), and free throw percentage (4th, .783).
Hobart (8-6, 4-1 Liberty) begins a five-game road trip on Jan. 28, with a trip to Vassar College. The first place Statesmen will tip off with the Brewers (9-5, 3-2) at 8 p.m.
