GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College first-year Sean McHugh (Holy Trinity/Mineola, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Men’s Basketball Rookie of the Week this afternoon for his performance in Hobart’s season-opening game against Hilbert.

McHugh scored 15 points in his Hobart debut. A guard, McHugh hit 55 percent of his shots, draining 5-of-9 from beyond the three-point arc against the Hawks. He also handed out three assists and pulled down three rebounds.

The Statesmen (0-1) will be back in action tonight when they travel to Keuka for a non-league game at 7 p.m.
