Statesmen fall to Keuka in OT

November 20, 2006

KEUKA PARK, N.Y.—The Hobart College basketball team lost in overtime to host Keuka College 82-78 tonight. The Statesmen fall to 0-2, while the Storm improve to 2-1.

Hobart junior John Grazioli dropped in a game-high 24 points and collected 10 caroms, while senior Mike Manning contributed 17 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. First-year Tim Ivory chipped in 14 points, including 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.

The Statesmen trailed by two at the break and by as many as seven after the intermission, but rallied to tie the contest 68-68 on Kevin Riley's (7 pts, 6 reb) layup with 12 seconds left.

In the extra session, Hobart fell behind by as many as five points, but cut the deficit to two on a three-pointer by Rich Horshaw with three seconds remaining. Unfortunately, the Statesmen requested a timeout they didn't have that resulted in a technical foul. The Storm made both free throws to seal the victory.

Hobart is back in action on Nov. 29, when the Statesmen host Cazenovia. Tipoff in Bristol Gym is scheduled for 8 p.m.
