Statesmen visit local school children

January 11, 2007

The Hobart basketball team spent part of its semester break with kids in area classrooms. On Jan. 3, the Statesmen spent part of the day at Geneva's North Street Elementary School, working with the Stepping Stones Program which is made up of kids in second and third grade. On Jan. 10, Hobart's cagers taught basketball skills and shared their love of the game with students at the Skoi-Yase School in Waterloo.

Every year students from Hobart and William Smith College commit hundreds of hours of service to the Geneva community and surrounding area. In fact, the Colleges are a national leader in service learning.

Just as they are in their respective athletic arenas, HWS student-athletes are leaders in giving back to the community. Donating their time and energy to countless causes.

Below are several pictures chronicling basketball team's work over the past week.
