GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College senior forward Joe Corbett (Haverford School/Philadelphia, Pa.) was recently named the ECAC Upstate Player of the Week after averaging 22 points and 15.7 rebounds in a 1-2 week for the Statesmen.

Against the top-ranked team in the region, Hamilton, Corbett scored 19 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out four assists, and collected three steals to lead Hobart to a 103-101 double overtime victory. Three days later at Clarkson, he posted 20 points, 18 boards, and four assists in the Statesmen’s 66-65 loss to the Golden Knights. The next afternoon at St. Lawrence, Corbett broke loose for a game-high 27 points and 18 rebounds in a 68-64 defeat.

Earlier this week, Corbett notched his 67th career double-double and 15th in a row with 21 points and 12 rebounds in Hobart’s 82-72 loss at Ithaca.

Currently boasting 1,645 career points, Corbett needs just 19 points to surpass Mike Massino ’88 as Hobart’s all-time leading scorer, while his 1,218 career rebounds is 251 more than the second place Statesman. Averaging 19.2 points per game he is second in the UCAA in scoring, while his 14.3 rebounds per game is tops in the conference and second best in the nation.

Hobart (9-14, 6-6 in UCAA) is currently tied with Rensselaer for the fourth and final spot in the UCAA playoffs. The Statesmen will host the Red Hawks on Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. The following afternoon, Hobart will close out its regular season with Vassar at 2 p.m.
