Joe Corbett '03

March 27, 2003

CAPE COD, Mass.—Hobart College senior Joe Corbett (Haverford School/Philadelphia, Pa.) continues to rake in the awards after a record-breaking career. The forward was recently named to the ECAC Division III Upstate Men’s Basketball First Team as voted by ECAC Division III Upstate region coaches.

A three-time first-team Upstate All-Star, Corbett also was named to the All-East first-team by D3hoops.com and the National Association of Basketball Coaches as well as earning first-team honors from the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association three times.

An honorable mention All-American selection by D3hoops.com, Corbett led the Statesmen in scoring (20.1 ppg), rebounding (14.4 rpg), and field goal percentage (.541) this season. Surpassing the career marks for both points and rebounds this season, he finished his career at Hobart with 1,701 points, 1,249 rebounds, and 69 double-doubles.

A two-time finalist for the Jostens Trophy (Division III Player of the Year), Corbett led Hobart to a 53-50 record over four seasons, making the Class of 2003 the first group since 1991 to graduate with a winning record. In 2001, he helped the Statesmen tie the mark for consecutive wins, on their way to the UCAA Championship and a berth in the program’s first NCAA Tournament.
