April 23, 2003 BEAVERTON, Ore.--Hobart College senior Joe Corbett (Haverford School/Philadelphia, Pa.) recently received honorable mention All-American basketball honors from DIII News. Corbett started all 23 games for the Statesmen this season, leading the team in scoring (20.1ppg), rebounding (14.4 rpg) and field goal percentage (.541). Corbett garnered numerous awards during his career, including being a two-time finalist for the Jostens Trophy (Division III Player of the Year) and three-time National Association of Basketball Coaches All-East first-team. Selected to the ECAC Division III Upstate Mens Basketball First Team, he earned first-team honors from the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association three times and was an All-East first-team selection by D3hoops.com. D3hoops.com also named Corbett an honorable mention All-American. Playing in 100 games and starting 99, Corbett was Hobarts career scoring and rebounding leader. He finished his career with 1,701 points, 1,249 rebounds, and 69 double-doubles. |
