22-01-2002 GENEVA, N.Y.--Hobart College basketball player Tim Lomot (Amityville/Amityville, N.Y.) is the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's Guard of the Week. The junior averaged 16.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals in a weekend split for the Statesmen. Lomot scored 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including 2-of-3 from behind the arc in Hobart's 86-57 win at Skidmore on Jan. 18. Against Union the following afternoon, the guard totaled a career-high 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds. In the two games he shot 73 percent from the floor, 80 percent from three-point range, and 75 percent from the free throw line. This season, Lomot is the Statesmen's fifth-leading scorer at 7.9 ppg and second on the team in assists with 51. Hobart (7-8, 2-2 UCAA) returns to action tonight when Hamilton College
(10-4, 2-2 UCAA) comes to Geneva for a 7 p.m., tip-off. The Statesmen
took two of three games with the Continentals last season, including a
72-70 thriller in the UCAA Semifinals. |
