ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Hobart varsity eight recently were elevated to a gold medal at the Stonehurst Capital Invitational on Oct. 9 because Marietta College was disqualified. The Statesmen crossed the finish line with a winning time of 29:32.30, defeating long-time rival Colgate University by 31 seconds.

Citing a mistake in registration, Stonehurst officials bumped Marietta out of the Collegiate Division because a rower in their boat had already graduated.
