At Ithaca, the Statesmen won their heat against the host Bombers. Sophomore Cary Wasserman (Salisbury School/Salisbury, Conn.), junior Richard Klein (Staples/Westport, Conn.), senior Sep Levatich (Ithaca/Ithaca, N.Y.), senior Mike Grenier (Brooks School/Methuen, Mass.), senior Joe Jameson (Brebeuf Jesuit/Indianapolis, Ind.), senior Paul Wasmund (Fabius-Pompey/Fabius, N.Y.), senior Rob Reinheimer (Cheverus/Bowdoinham, Maine), senior Alex Caruthers (Bishop O’Dowd/Kensington, Calif.), and junior Drew Meunier (Shenendehowa/Round Lake, N.Y.) won the morning heat against Ithaca, covering the 2,000-meter course in 6:35.9. The Bombers were more than eight seconds behind.

In the afternoon, Hobart finished third in the grand final behind first place Trinity (Conn.) and the Cornell lightweights. The Statesmen improved on their morning time, crossing the line in 6:34.0.

Hobart has earned at least a share of every Liberty League Boat of the Week award dating back to the spring 2006 season.

The Statesmen are back on the water on April 7, when they host Grand Valley State.
