Ramsey honored by RACA

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College sophomore Ben Ramsey (Carnegie Vanguard/Houston, Texas) was recently named the Rochester Area College Athletics (RACA) Co-Male Athlete of the Week. The stroke for the crew team’s varsity four, Ramsey led the Statesmen to a first-place finish at the Knecht Cup last weekend.
The Statesmen’s varsity four with coxswain beat out 10 teams to claim the gold medal in the Knecht Cup. After placing second in a qualifying heat, Hobart cut 4.5 seconds off its time over the 2,000 meter course to finish the final race in seven minutes flat. The Statesmen edged runner-up Mary Washington by more than three seconds.
Hobart is back on the water, April 21, when the Statesmen travel to Hamilton, N.Y., for the annual Seneca Cup against Colgate.
