SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.--The Hobart College crew team was edged by Colgate University in a dual race with the Raiders and Skidmore College. A seasoned Colgate crew topped the Hobart Varsity Eight by less than two seconds and a few seats in a race that saw both teams battling back and forth for the lead. The Statesmen hammered the third place Thoroughbreds by 40 seconds. The Hobart junior varsity also lost to the Raiders junior varsity A-team, but defeated the B-team and Skidmore's junior varsity squad. The Statesmen return to action when they travel to Whitney Point, N.Y., for the New York State Championships May 4-5.
