GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College varsity eight captured its second weekly award today. One day after being named the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Co-Boat of the Week, the Statesmen were selected as the ECAC Co-NIR Crew of the Week. This marks the second consecutive week a Hobart crew has earned both the UCAA and ECAC accolades after the freshmen eight captured last week’s honors.

Hobart continued its outstanding spring season this past weekend with a convincing victory over Division I Colgate in the Seneca Cup. Capturing their second consecutive Cup and fourth in the past five years, the Statesmen got off to a good start and turned in a great final 500 meters, finishing the course in 6:33.66, nearly nine seconds ahead of the Raiders.

Earning their fourth consecutive victory were sophomore coxswain Dan Gilbert (Rochester/Rochester, N.Y.), senior Havilland Campbell (LaSalle/Philadelphia, Pa.), sophomore Gardner Loring (Middlesex/Duxbury, Mass.), first-year Michael Grenier (Brooks School/Methuen, Mass.), sophomore Timothy Faxon (Salisbury School/Pelham, Mass.), sophomore Gavin Johnstone-Butcher (St. Paul’s School/Bulawayo, Zimbabwe), first-year Sep Levatich (Ithaca/Brooktondale, N.Y.), sophomore JM Chadonic (Lawrenceville/New York, N.Y.), and junior Michael Hoepp (Choate Rosemary Hall/Bedford, N.H.).

Moving up a spot to 19th in the latest US Rowing poll, Hobart looks to continue its unbeaten streak on April 24, at the UCAA Championships in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
