Thomas Williamson

September 4, 2002

GENEVA, N.Y. – Hobart and William Smith Colleges have announced the hiring of a new assistant coach for the crew squads. Thomas C. Williamson, a 2002 graduate of Hobart, will begin coaching duties after being a member of the Statesmen Crew team for four years. An economics and environmental studies double major at Hobart, Williamson was a walk-on for the Statesmen. His talents did not go unnoticed as he earned the Most Improved Rower award as a first-year.

During his four years in the varsity boat, Williamson helped guide the Statesmen to third place finishes at the New York State Championships in his sophomore and junior seasons. In 2001, Hobart’s Varsity 8 took fifth at the AVAYA Collegiate Championships. Williamson will assist both Hobart Head Coach Mike Guerrieri and William Smith Head Coach Sandra Chu with recruiting and coaching.

As a student, Williamson was a member of the Hobartones, the College’s acappella group. A native of Mountain Lakes, N.J., Williamson is a 1998 graduate of Mountain Lakes High School.
