ITHACA, N.Y.--The Hobart College crew team decisively defeated Ithaca College and Williams College to open the season. Rowing against a very stiff head wind in bitter cold, the Statesmen Varsity Eight crew pulled away from pack, finishing with a time of 6:45.0, 17 seconds ahead of Ithaca and 22 seconds in front of Williams. Hobart's second varsity eight finished second, just 2.4 seconds behind the Bombers. The Statesmen are back in action on April 13, when they travel to Rochester to face RIT.
