Thoms finishes 10th at Liberty League Championships

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.—Hobart College senior Scott Thoms (Brooks School/West Chatham, Mass.) finished 10th with a career-best time of 27:20 this afternoon at the Liberty League Cross Country Championships hosted by Vassar College. The Statesmen finished sixth of seven teams.
Next across the line for Hobart was sophomore Michael Guglielmo (Northern Highlands Regional/Allendale, N.J.) with a season-low time of 30:12 for 40th place. First-year Joseph Bochynski (Amherst Central/Amherst, N.Y.) also turned in a season-best time of 31:54 for 44th place, while Eric Barnes (Schalmont Sr./Duanesburg, N.Y.) covered the 8k course with a personal-best of 32:42.
Rounding out the top five for the Statesmen was first-year Nicholas Barnes (St. Andrews-Sewanee School/Sewanee, Tenn.), crossing the line in 33:38.
Hobart runs again on Oct. 16, at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational. The gun is scheduled to off at noon |
