Ben Flanagan

GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart first-year Ben Flanagan (Masconomet/Boxford, Mass.) was named the Liberty League Cross Country Rookie of the Week this afternoon.

Flanagan led Hobart across the finish line in his first collegiate race, covering the 8-kilometer Buffalo State Invitational course in 27:52, a time two minutes faster than any Statesman ran in 2005. He placed 49th overall out of 114 runners.

Hobart is back in action on Sept. 9, when the Statesmen compete in the Oswego State Invitational.
