September 1, 2001 GRAND ISLAND, N.Y.--Senior Steve Chabot (Keene/Keene, N.H.) started the season where he left off last year, leading the Hobart College cross country team with an 8k time of 28:10. The Statesmen finished 12th at the 2001 Daniel Walker Memorial Invitational hosted by Buffalo State. Sophomore Robert Portik-Middleton (Singapore American School/Vero Beach, Fla.) was Hobart's second fastest runner on the day with a time of 30:06. First-year Scott Thoms (Brook School/West Chatham, Mass.) ran time of 31:09. In his first race in two seasons, senior Justin Siuta (Niagara-Wheatfield/N. Tonawanda, N.Y.) finished with a time of 33:22. First-year Max Zimmerly (Holliston/Holliston, Mass.) and Sophomore Binh Nguyen (Mission Bay/San Diego, Calif.) rounded out the Statesmen harriers with times of 37:17 and 42:28 respectively. Hobart is back in action on Sept. 8, at 1 p.m. when they travel to the
Oswego Invitational. |
