September 6, 2003 BUFFALO, N.Y.The Hobart College cross country team traveled to Buffalo State College this past weekend to compete in the annual Daniel Walker Memorial Invitational. The Statesmen finished the day in 10th place of 11 teams. Geneseo and Malone took the top two spots, respectively. Senior Robert Portik-Middleton (Singapore American School/Vero Beach, Fla.) was the top finisher for Hobart, completing the 8k course in 30:10. First-year Mike Guglielmo (Allendale/Allendale, N.J.) was next in line with a time of 31:21, while fellow rookie Rob Stevenson (St. George's School/Glyndon, Md.) crossed the line in 32:18. First-year Ted Williams (Germantown Friends School/Blue Bell, Pa.) and junior Drew Mosher (Harrisville/Harrisville, N.Y.) rounded out the top five for Hobart, covering the five miles in 33:07 and 34:04, respectively. The Statesmen will run again on Sept. 13, at the Oswego State Invitational at 1 p.m. |
