September 20, 2003 GENEVA, N.Y.The Hobart College cross country team finished in fifth of seven teams this afternoon at the annual Hobart Invitational. Houghton College took four of the top-10 individual spots to capture first place, while Buffalo State finished second. Senior Rob Middleton (Singapore American School/Vero Beach, Fla.) led the way for the Statesmen with an 8k time of 29:45, for 12th place. First-year Ted Williams (Germantown Friends School/Blue Bell, Pa.) ran his best time of the season, covering the five miles in 31:38. First-year Michael Guglielmo (Allendale/Allendale, N.Y.) junior Drew Mosher (Harrisville/Harrisville, N.Y.) and first-year Rob Stevenson (St. Georges School/Glyndon, Md.) paced each other, crossing the line in 27th, 28th and 29th, respectively. Hobart returns to action on Sept. 27, at the Fredonia Invitational at noon. |
