Hobart harriers compete at Roberts Wesleyan Invitational

ROCHESTER, N.Y.—The Hobart College cross country team competed at the Roberts Wesleyan Invitational this past weekend, finishing 10th with 257 points. Rochester Institute of Technology took the top spot with a low score of 28.

Senior Rob Middleton (Singapore American School/Vero Beach, Fla.) led the Statesmen harriers, covering the 8k course in 28:11, one minute faster than his previous best time this season. Sophomore Gauthier Giacomoni (Commack/Commack, N.Y.) dropped an entire 2:49 off his fastest time of the year, crossing the finish line in 29:39.

First-years Mike Guglielmo (Northern Highlands/Allendale, N.J.) and Rob Stevenson (St. George’s School/Glyndon, Md.) paced each other throughout the five miles, finishing with times of 29:55 and 30:15, respectively.

Rounding out the top five for the Statesmen was junior Drew Mosher (Harrisville/Harrisville, N.Y.), hitting the tape in 30:19, 35 seconds faster than his previous best.

The Hobart harriers return to action on Oct. 25, at the Saratoga Invitational.
