September 22, 2001 HOUGHTON, N.Y.--Senior Steve Chabot (Keene/Keene, N.H.) ran an 8k time of 30:50 to help the Statesmen to their best finish of the season at the Houghton College Invitational. Hobart was third in the five-team field. Two spots back of eighth place Chabot was sophomore Robert Portik-Middleton (Singapore American School/Vero Beach, Fla.) who rounded out the top-10 with a time of 31:09. First-year Scott Thoms (Brook School/West Chatham, Mass.) was 13th, posting a time of 31:49. The next Statesmen finisher was senior Justin Siuta (Niagara-Wheatfield/N. Tonawanda, N.Y.), who ran a time of 33:23. In his first race, first-year Drew Mosher (Harrisville/Harrisville, N.Y.) was 23rd overall with a time of 34:23. First-year Max Zimmerley (Holliston/Holliston, Mass.) ran his second best time of 37:51. Hobart is back in action on Sept. 29, when the Statesmen travel to the
Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Championships at Saratoga Springs. |
