The Statesmen improved to 5-0, 3-0 in the Liberty League, with a 42-13 win at Coast Guard on Oct. 8. The triumph helped Hobart move up three spots in the latest AFCA Coaches Poll to No. 14.
Mizro broke the Hobart single game records for completion percentage (89.5%) and passing efficiency rating (246.8) against the Bears. He finished the day 17-of-19 for 238 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. Mizro threw two touchdowns passes of 48 yards and one from 2 yards. Coast Guard came into the game with the top passing defense (143.8 yds/g) and the top scoring defense (12.5 ppg) in the Liberty League.
The second-year starter leads the conference in passing efficiency rating (145.3). He has completed 69-of-114 passes (60.5 percent) for 845 yards and nine touchdowns this season. For his career, Mizro ranks among the top five in completions (4th, 227), passing yards (4th, 3,109), and passing touchdowns (2nd, 39).
This is the second time this season Mizro has been honored by RACA.
Following two games on the road, Hobart returns to Boswell Field for its next contest, when the Statesmen host Kings Point on Oct. 15. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. The game will be broadcast live by WEOS-FM (89.7/90.3 in Geneva, 88.1 in Ithaca).
