GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart senior defensive end Chris Purtell (Pioneer/Sardinia, N.Y.) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his efforts in a 33-27 overtime win against Union College on Nov. 6. This marks the third time this season he has been so honored by D3football.com.
The Liberty League Co-Defensive Performer of the Week recorded 11 tackles in the conference championship-clinching win. His stops included four tackles for a loss and four solo efforts. None of his tackles was more important than his last. On fourth and goal from the half yard line, Purtell was a key figure in a goal line stand that preserved the tie and allowed the Statesmen to win two plays later.
