GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart senior wide receiver Dan Suozzi (New Hampton/New Canaan, Conn.) was named the Liberty League Football Co-Offensive Performer of the Week following his record-breaking performance in Saturday’s 31-2 win over Coast Guard.

Suozzi caught eight passes for 161 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Statesmen past the Bears. With his second reception of the afternoon, Suozzi became Hobart’s career leader and finished the day with 148 career catches. With his second TD catch, he broke that career mark and finished the day with 20 career TD receptions. With his final touchdown of the day, he tied the one-week old game record set be last week’s Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week Rick Piñero (Smithtown/Hauppauge, N.Y.).

The career receptions record previously was shared by Frank Fedorjaka ’89 and Nico Karagosian ’97 with 141 catches each. The career touchdown receptions mark was held by Nate Waye ’94 (17).

Hobart (4-1, 3-0 Liberty) is on the road for its next game. The Statesmen will visit the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy-Kings Point (1-5, 1-2) for a 2 p.m. kickoff on Oct. 16. In four previous meetings, Hobart has never beaten the Mariners, but the two programs have not met since the 1970 season.
