GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart running back Doug Blakowski (Iroquois Central/Elma, N.Y.) was named the ECAC Upstate Offensive Player of the Week for his role in leading the Statesmen football team past Liberty League opponent WPI 19-14 last Saturday.
On Monday, Blakowski was named the Liberty League Offensive Performer of the Week after scoring all three of Hobart’s touchdowns in the win over the Engineers. The senior ran for 119 yards, averaging 5.0 yards per carry. He scored on 1, 11, and 42-yard rushes, posting his longest run of the season on the 42-yard touchdown run. In addition, Blakowski recorded two receptions for 49 yards, both catches coming on the 67-yard game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. Hobart’s leading scorer, Blakowski has totaled eight touchdowns over four games.
The undefeated Statesmen (4-0, 2-0 Liberty League) will return to action on Oct. 14 when they travel to Merchant Marine Academy for a conference game at 2 p.m.
