Hobart football puts 9 on All-Academic Team

GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart College football team recently saw nine of its student-athletes named to the Liberty League All-Academic Team, after closing out the season with a 8-2 overall record and earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament, as well as a share of the Liberty League title.
To earn a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2, and be at least a sophomore academically. The following Statesmen were recognized by the league for their excellence on the field and in the classroom:
• Sophomore free safety Lance Boyington (Greece Arcadia/Rochester, N.Y.)*
• Sophomore center Mike Condon (Victor/Victor, N.Y.), media and society major
• Senior offensive tackle Mike DePersis (Johnson City/Johnson City, N.Y.), chemistry major
• Sophomore running back Anthony Hobaica (Utica-Proctor/Utica, N.Y.)*
• Junior free safety Mike Kaplun (Webster Schroeder/Webster, N.Y.), media and society major
• Senior tight end Ryan McWalter (Concord-Carlisle/Concord, Mass.), history major
• Senior defensive tackle Ryan Rapaport (Frontier Regional/Whatley, Mass.), English major
• Senior linebacker Nolan Robinson (Johnson City/Johnson City, N.Y.), chemistry major
• Senior full back Chris Whipple (West Genesee/Camillus, N.Y.), history major
* Hobart College students are not required to declare a major until the second semester of their sophomore year.
