February 6, 2007
GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College senior Shawn Mizro (Newark/Newark N.Y.) will intern in the Hobart and William Smith Colleges’ athletic communication office during the 2007 spring term. He will assist with the publicity of the 16 winter and spring varsity sports programs at the Colleges.
Mizro was a member of the Hobart football team for four seasons. He participated in three NCAA tournaments as well as an ECAC championship game. Mizro, a quarterback, was 26-6 as a starter for the Statesmen and holds numerous passing records including passing yards (6,097), completions (455), and touchdown passes (61). He served as team captain during his senior season.
Sports have played a vital role in Mizro’s life and he will use the internship as an opportunity to gain valuable experience in communications through an athletic perspective. He hopes this internship opportunity will benefit him in his career after graduation.
Mizro is scheduled to graduate from Hobart in May with a bachelor’s degree in media and society and a minor in religious studies.
