October 2, 2001

GENEVA, N.Y.--Local youth will have an opportunity to experience NCAA Football and the college game-day atmosphere when Hobart College hosts NCAA Football's annual "Take a Kid to the Game" (TAKG) program, Oct. 6. Kids, ages 12 and younger, will receive a free ticket to watch the Statesmen take on the University of Rochester on Boswell Field.

TAKG is entering its seventh year in the promotion of NCAA Athletics and fourth for NCAA Football. The Take a Kid to the Game program saw a record number of schools (181) participate last year in this campaign, which focused on attracting more of the nation's youth to college games.

"The Take a Kid to the Game program is a wonderful opportunity to introduce the youth of our community to NCAA Football," Hobart Athletics Director Mike Hanna said. "This is also a great chance for our school to gain some new fans."

Adult tickets for this special game can be purchased in Bristol Gymnasium for just $3. For more information, visit the Statesmen on-line.

The Take a Kid to the Game program is a national promotion of NCAA Football, the marketing arm of college football. NCAA Football represents a coalition of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the Conference Commissioners Association.
