December 18, 2002 GENEVA, N.Y.The Hobart College football team enjoyed record breaking season in 2002. Following that type of season, the accolades pour in, more often than not, for the stars of the team, overlooking the guys toiling away in the trenches. Not so for senior offensive lineman Adam Tumilowicz (Unadilla Valley/Norwich, N.Y.). The 25th annual Hewlett Packard NCAA Division III All-America Football Teams were announced today and Tumilowicz was the lone Statesman honored, garnering honorable mention. The silver anniversary team was selected by a panel of 29 sports information directors representing the four playoff regions in NCAA Division III. Voters made first-, second-, and third-team selections with candidates receiving points on a 25-15-10 scale. In addition to the top three teams, players who received 100 or more points earned honorable mention status. A three-year starter at guard, Tumilowicz was a leader on Hobarts offensive line that helped the Statesmen average 132.0 yards rushing per game and a school record 221.9 yards passing per game. At 6-foot-4, 300 pounds, he is a punishing blocker with surprising quickness and excellent mobility. Tumilowicz was named first-team All-UCAA in each of the past three seasons, while garnering first-team All-ECAC Northwest this season. Tumilowicz is also an All-American candidate as selected by D3Football.com and Don Hansens Football Gazette. He was a first-team All-East Region selection earlier this month by the Football Gazette. |
