Booth, Godinho named to UCAA honor roll

GENEVA, N.Y.--Two Hobart College football players were recognized by the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association after the Statesmen's 28-18 win over St. John Fisher College on Nov. 3. Junior linebacker Tim Booth (Waterloo/Waterloo, N.Y.) and first-year running back Ty Godinho (Lancaster/Lancaster, N.Y.) each earned a spot on the honor roll.

Booth made a team-high 10 tackles against the Cardinals, including six solo, and four tackles for a loss. The linebacker also intercepted a pass and blocked a punt that resulted in Hobart's first touchdown. Booth is second on the team in tackles with 52, including 38 solo. He leads the team in sacks with four and tackles for a loss with 17.

Godinho ran the ball 31 times for 86 yards and a touchdown on Saturday. The first-year leads the team in rushing and is second in the UCAA with 797 yards on 172 carries. Godinho has also caught 10 passes for 61 yards and scored six touchdowns.

The Statesmen (6-2, 2-1) travel to Troy to face UCAA rival Rensselaer (7-0, 3-0) on Nov. 10, at 1 p.m. Last season, Hobart shutout Rensselaer 27-0 in Geneva.
