Godinho, Szentesy named to UCAA honor roll

GENEVA, N.Y.--Two Hobart College football players were recognized by the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association after the Statesmen's loss to Ithaca College on Oct. 27. First-year running back Ty Godinho (Lancaster/Lancaster, N.Y.) and sophomore linebacker David Szentesy (Lackawanna/Lackawanna, N.Y.) each earned a spot on the honor roll.

Godinho ran the ball 21 times for 108 yards against the Bombers, including a 56-yard touchdown. The first-year leads the team in rushing and is second in the UCAA with 711 yards on 141 carries. Godinho has also caught 10 passes for 61 yards and scored five touchdowns.

Szentesy made a team-high 10 tackles at Ithaca, including one for a loss of 10 yards and half a sack. The linebacker leads the Hobart in tackles with 44, including 19 solo and six tackles for a loss. Szentesy has also intercepted a team-high three passes this season.

The Statesmen (5-2) host St. John Fisher College on Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. Last season, Hobart defeated the Cardinals, 35-10, on the road.
