GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart first-year George Gorton (Johnson City/Endwell, N.Y.) was named the Liberty League Golf Co-Rookie of the Week this afternoon. It is the second consecutive week he has received the honor.

Gorton led Hobart to a pair of second place finishes last week. He placed fifth in the Oswego Invitational, carding a four-over 75 at the Oswego Country Club on Monday. On Saturday, he was one stroke off the lead, finishing second with a three-over round of 73 at the Clifton Springs Country Club in the Hobart Invitational.

Gorton leads Hobart with an average round of 74.4.

The Statesmen golf team is back in action on Oct. 1-2, in the Liberty League Championships at the Saratoga Spa State Park Golf Course.
