Golfers take 2nd at Hamilton
April 12, 2006
CLINTON, N.Y.—The Hobart College golf team powered past 11 other squads to earn second place at the Hamilton College Spring Invitational at the par-72 Skenandoa Golf Club. The hosts took home top honors with a score of 311, while the Statesmen were five shots off the pace.
Senior Drew Slocum (University School/Milwaukee, Wis.) led the charge for Hobart with a fifth place performance. The All-Tournament team selection turned in a four over 76.
Junior Mike Gonzalez (Harley-Allendale-Columbia/Webster, N.Y.) and first-year Brian Kilduff (Morristown-Beard School/Summit, N.J.) tied for sixth place, just one shot behind Slocum.
Hobart returns to the links on April 28, when the Statesmen compete in their final event of the season, the Elmira Invitational.
