Statesmen golfers compete at Skidmore Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Hobart College golf team finished in ninth place of 11 teams today in the Skidmore Invitational at the McGregor Links Country Club with a team score of 340. The Skidmore “White” took the top three individual spots to win the team title with a low score of 294, while St. Lawrence shot a combined 315 to edge out Hamilton by seven strokes for second place.

Junior Ryan Malet (Walter Johnson/Rockville, Md.) and sophomore Drew Slocum (University School of Milwaukee/Milwaukee, Wis.) both shot a 10-over 82 to tie 24th in the 56-competitor event.

Sophomore Mark Hobin (Ridge/Basking Ridge, N.J.) was next in the clubhouse for the Statesmen carding a round of 87. Juniors Ryan Wilson (Brooks School/Topsfield, Mass.) and Matt Coté (Trinity-Pawling/Kirkland, Quebec) rounded out the Hobart contingent.

The Statesmen return to the links again on Sept. 20, in the Pitt-Bradford Invitational.
