Statesmen compete in UCAA Championship

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.—The Hobart College golf team finished seventh in the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association Championship at the Saratoga Spa State Park Course today. Shooting a tournament-low 299, Skidmore beat out Rochester by one stroke to earn the conference title for the second straight season.

Leading the Statesmen were sophomores Drew Slocum (University School/Milwaukee, Wis.) and Matt Johannessen (Kent School/Litchfield, Conn.), finishing the day tied for 25th with a six over 78.

Classmate Matt Windhol (Tabor Academy/Westford, Mass.) was next in the clubhouse for Hobart in a tie for 29th three strokes behind Slocum and Johannessen.

The event also doubled as the ECAC Upstate New York Qualifier. The Statesmen finished 14th in the 16-team field, carding a 329.

Hobart hits the links again on Oct. 4, when it hosts the annual Hobart Invitational at the Clifton Spring Country Club at 1:30 p.m.
