finish in first division at Palamountain Invitational

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.--The Hobart golf team finished ninth out of 18
teams at the Palamountain Invitational today. Sophomore Drew Slocum (University
School/Milwaukee, Wis.) led the Statesmen with an 18th place finish in
a field of 89 golfers.
Hobart posted a two-day score of 663, one stroke better than 10th-place Plattsburgh.
On Sunday, Slocum led Hobart with a three-over 75 on the Saratoga Springs State Park Course. The following afternoon, he again carded the low round for the Statesmen, an 83 at the par-72 McGregor Links Country Club. Slocum tied with three other golfers for 18th place.
Sophomore Matt Johannessen (Kent School/Litchfield, Conn.) tied for 39th place with a two-day score of 166, while senior Kyle Hannes (Gilmour Academy/Kenosha, Wis.) tied for 48th, two strokes back.
Hobart returns to the links at 1:30 p.m. on April 25, in the Nazareth Invitational.
