GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College junior defenseman Will Bodine (North Massapequa, N.Y.) and first-year goaltender Dimitri Papaevagelou (Windham, N.H.) were named the ECAC West Co-Player of the Week and Goaltender of the Week, respectively.
Bodine tallied the Statesmen’s first goal and added an assist in Hobart’s 5-2 upset victory over then top-ranked Manhattanville on Saturday afternoon. He also helped anchor a defense that held the Valiants to just two goals, well below their average of 4.64, and scoreless on 10 power-play opportunities.
Earlier in the week, Bodine also helped Hobart grab a 4-2 victory over Buffalo State, as the Statesmen limited the Bengals to just 20 shots on goal.
Bodine leads all Hobart blueliners and is fourth on the team in scoring with 11 points (6-5).
Playing in just one game last week, Papaevagelou grabbed 22 saves against Manhattanville, including 11 in a second period that featured five Valiant power-play opportunities.
For the season, Papaevagelou is 9-1-3 overall and sports a .915 save percentage and a conference-best 2.22 goals against average.
The 11th-ranked Statesmen (11-2-4) return to action on Jan. 29, when ECAC West opponent Neumann College visits The Cooler for a 4 p.m., faceoff.
