Bradley named MVP of Babson Invitational
November 27 , 2005
BABSON PARK, Mass.—Hobart College junior forward Conor Bradley (West Hartford, Conn.) was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2005 Babson Invitational Tournament. Senior defensemen Greg Gallagher (Framingham, Mass.), first-year goaltender Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass.), and junior forward Mike McCarthy (Medfield, Mass.) joined Bradley on the All-Tournament team.
Bradley registered six points on four goals and two assists to lead the Statesmen to the Babson Invitational title. On Nov. 26, he netted three power-play goals to record his first collegiate hat trick and dished out a second period assist to lift Hobart to a 6-0 win over Williams. In the championship game, Bradley opened the scoring just 1:08 into the opening period, and later added an assist, in a 5-1 victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering.
Gallagher anchored a stifling Hobart defense, which only allowed one goal in two games and killed off 15 of 16 power play opportunities. Offensively, he added an assist against MSOE.
Longo turned away 50 of 51 shots he faced this weekend to earn his third and fourth victories of the season. He made 23 saves against Williams to register his second consecutive shutout, and turned away a season-high 27 shots in the championship game.
McCarthy tallied five points on three goals and two assists this weekend. Against Williams, he sandwiched two assists around his second goal of the season. The following day, McCarthy dished out his team-leading 10th assist of the season to go with another goal.
Hobart returns to action at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2 when the Statesmen host Neumann College at the Geneva Recreational Complex.
