GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College first-year winger Brian Cibelli (Liverpool, N.Y.) was selected as the ECAC West Rookie of the Week for the week ending Feb. 6. Cibelli led all Statesmen scorers over the weekend with five points on two goals and three assists.
On Friday at Lebanon Valley, he tallied a pair of goals and added two assists in Hobart’s 7-2 victory over the Dutchmen. The following evening, he notched his fifth assists of the year in a narrow 3-2 loss at No. 4 Manhattanville.
More than tripling his point total for the season over the weekend, Cibelli is second among rookie scorers on the team with two goals and five assists for seven points in just 10 games this season.
The 14th-ranked Statesmen sport a 12-4-4 overall record, including a 3-3-2 mark in ECAC West action. Sitting one point behind Elmira in the conference standings, Hobart returns to action on Feb. 11, when the Soaring Eagles visits The Cooler. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
