GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College sophomore forward Brian Cibelli (Liverpool, N.Y.) recently was named the Rochester Area College Athletics Co-Male Athlete of the Week and earned a spot on the ECAC West weekly honor roll for his two-point effort in the hockey team’s 4-2 win over Amherst. The Statesmen are ranked seventh in the latest edition of the USCHO.com poll, up one spot from last week.

On Dec. 10, Cibelli netted the game-winning goal and also dished out an assist as the Statesmen won their eighth consecutive game. He has scored at least one point in four straight games. Cibelli has eight points, on four goals and four assists, this season.

Hobart’s eight-game winning streak is the longest in the program’s 28 varsity seasons and the second longest active streak in Division III.

Hobart (9-2-0) will be tested immediately after the holiday break, when the Statesmen travel to No. 4 SUNY Oswego (12-3-0) at 7 p.m. on Jan. 7.
