GENEVA, N.Y.—Two members of the Hobart College hockey team were recognized by the conference office late Tuesday. Senior defensemen Greg Gallagher (Framingham, Mass.) was named the ECAC West Player of the Week, while sophomore goalie Dimitri Papaevagelou (Windham, N.H.) earned a spot on the honor roll for their performances during the week ending Nov. 13.
Gallagher turned in a career-high four points to lead Hobart to a 7-5 victory over conference rival Elmira. He registered an assist on the Statesmen’s first goal of the game, and sparked a four-goal second period by dishing out a pair of helpers. Hobart’s captain netted his first goal of the season over the left shoulder of Soaring Eagle goalkeeper Raphael Cundari at the 8:51 mark of the third period. Gallagher ranks second on the team in assists (3) and third in points (4).
During the home opener, Papaevagelou made 32 saves to lead the Statesmen to their first conference win of the season. His 32 stops are the third highest total of his career.
Hobart returns to action on Nov. 18 when the Statesmen host SUNY Cortland at 7 p.m.
