Hobart Hockey to open home schedule on Friday

GENEVA, N.Y.—The 15th-ranked Hobart ice hockey team will open the home portion of its 2004-05 schedule at 7 p.m., on Nov. 19, when the Statesmen host SUNY Potsdam at the Geneva Recreation Complex, aka The Cooler. The following afternoon, Hobart will host SUNY Brockport at 4 p.m. Tickets are $2 for adults, $1 for children.
Led by fifth-year Head Coach Mark Taylor, the defending ECAC West Champions enter the weekend with a 2-1-2 record. Junior forward Edward Poirier (Methuen, Mass.) leads the team in scoring with three goals and two assist for five points. Sophomore defenseman Mike Polsonetti (Lynn, Mass.) and sophomore forward Mike McCarthy (Medfield, Mass.) are close behind with four points each.
First-year goalie Dimitri Papaevagelou (Windham, N.H.) is unbeaten in three starts this year (2-0-1). He boasts a 1.73 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early. No more than 800 tickets will be sold for each game at The Cooler. Also, no outside drink containers or backpacks will be allowed into the Geneva Recreation Complex.
