GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College first-year goalie Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass) recorded 21 saves to post his first collegiate shutout and lead the Statesmen hockey team to a 7-0 victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology this afternoon at the Geneva Recreation Complex. Senior Brian Keane (Sherborn, Mass.) and junior Conor Bradley (West Hartford, Conn.) each recorded three points to pace the offense.
Hobart (4-2-0) opened the scoring at the 11:54 mark of the first period on the power play as Keane netted his first goal of the season. Less than four minutes later, the Statesmen struck again, as first-year Andrew Brennan (Milford, Mass.) registered his first collegiate goal on a two-man advantage to take a 2-0 lead into the locker room.
The Statesmen power play continued to click in the second period as Bradley posted his fifth goal of the season at the 16:19 mark, and added an even strength goal less than four minutes later.
Senior Lee Carrier (Ballston Lake, N.Y.) and junior Jonathan Swift (Andover, Mass.) netted a pair of goals just 4:07 into the third period. Keane rounded out the scoring on the power play at the 8:36 mark.
Sophomore netminder Alan Keeso (Listowel, Ontario) made 40 saves for Wentworth (3-3-0).
