GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College first-year goaltender Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass.) was selected the ECAC West Rookie of the Week this afternoon for his outstanding performance during the week ending Jan. 15. The Statesmen hockey team is ranked seventh in the latest edition of the USCHO.com national poll, up one spot from last week.

Longo continued his stellar play in a pair of Hobart victories, stopping 48 of the 49 shots he faced. On Jan. 10, Longo turned aside 23 Brockport offerings in just over 38 minutes of scoreless relief action, as the Statesmen earned a 5-3 come-from-behind victory over the Golden Eagles.

On Jan. 13, he made 25 saves to collect his eighth win of the season in a 4-1 road win over ECAC Northeast leader Curry.

Longo has stopped 236 of the 249 shots he has faced this season. He leads the nation in save percentage (.948) and is third in goals against average (1.42).

Hobart returns to the ice at 7 p.m. on Jan. 20, when the Statesmen host No. 3 Manhattanville (13-1-0) in an ECAC West showdown.
