GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College first-year goaltender Keith Longo (Hopedale, Mass.) earned his second weekly accolade this afternoon. Twenty-four hours after being named the RACA Co-Male Athlete of the Week, he garnered the ECAC West Men’s Hockey Rookie of the Week Award for his outstanding performance in Friday night’s 1-0 victory over Utica. It’s the third time this season Longo has been selected the conference’s rookie of the week.

On Feb. 10, Longo broke two individual records, while backstopping Hobart to its record-breaking 16th win of the season. He made 29 saves, including 16 in the third period, to earn his third shutout of the season. No Statesmen netminder had ever posted three shutouts in a season, nor had any Hobart student-athlete ever registered more than three in a career. Longo ranks second in the nation in save percentage (.942) and fifth in goals against average (1.68).

Hobart (17-5-0, 8-4-0) returns to action at 4 p.m. on Feb. 18, when the Statesmen host Elmira (12-8-2, 5-6-1) at The Cooler. Prior to the start of the game, Hobart will honor its nine seniors.
