Hobart to skate for Happiness House
November 11 , 2005
GENEVA, N.Y.—The Hobart ice hockey team will play its home opener on Nov. 12 at 4 p.m., when the Statesmen host the Elmira College Soaring Eagles. In conjunction with the sixth annual Hike for Happiness House, Hobart will donate the afternoon’s gate receipts to Happiness House.
Hike for Happiness House is an indoor community walk-a-thon to benefit the “Happiness is Helping” capital campaign. The event will be held at the Hobart and William Smith Colleges Bristol Field House from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Nov. 12.
All proceeds from the event will benefit children and adults with disabilities who attend programs or receive services at Happiness House. Hobart Hockey Head Coach Mark Taylor is a member of the Happiness House Board of Directors.
The Hobart-Elmira ECAC West showdown will also be the centerpiece for Hobart hockey’s Alumni Weekend festivities. Both the Statesmen (1-2-0, 0-2-0) and the Soaring Eagles (2-3-0, 0-2-0) will be seeking their first conference win of the young season.
Tickets for Hobart hockey games are $3 for general admission and $1 for children under 12. Hobart and William Smith faculty, staff, and students are admitted free with a valid ID.
