GENEVA, N.Y.—Hobart College Ice Hockey Head Coach Mark Taylor recently announced the captains for the 2006-07 season. Senior Mike Polsonetti (Lynn, Mass.) was named captain, while classmates Jonathan Swift (Andover, Mass.), Conor Bradley (West Hartford, Conn.), and Adam Scott (Manchester, Mass.) were all tabbed as assistant captains. After helping the 2005-06 Statesmen to an NCAA semifinal appearance and a history-making 20-win season, these veterans are charged with the task of leading Hobart to another successful year.

Polsonetti looks to bounce back this winter after an injury-plagued junior season. He has been an impact player for Hobart from Day 1, playing in 64 of a possible 80 games over his first three seasons. A defenseman, Polsonetti has been an integral part of Hobart’s talented defense, as well as a consistent offensive contributor. The 2005-06 ECAC West All-Academic selection has tallied 10 goals and 21 assists over his career, including a goal and an assist so far this season.

The 2003-04 ECAC Rookie of the Year, Swift has been a presence as a power forward from the start. A playmaker, he has tallied 20 career goals and 25 career assists, including two goals and an assist in three games this season. Swift has played in 69 games over his first three years.

Bradley is a dangerous scoring threat, bringing both size and strength to a solid Statesmen team. After battling for playing time early in his career, Bradley proved himself a big time player when he scored a goal in the 2004 ECAC West Championship game. Last year he had a breakout junior season, scoring a team-high 18 goals and tallying 11 assists for 29 points, and was ranked eighth in the country in power play goals (11).

A forward, Scott has played in 49 career games entering the 2006-07 season. A key player in the recent success of the program, he will continue to be a steady contributor after playing in 25 games and recording six points last season. Scott has totaled six goals and eight assists over three seasons with the Statesmen.

The Statesmen, ranked 12th in the nation by USCHO.com, will be in action again on Nov. 11 when they travel to Elmira for a conference game at 7 p.m.
